To empower our members through sharing current information and engaging in activities that promote intellectual growth, and increase the visibility of the bioinformatics community in Eastern Africa to the world. Some of our interests are

• Exposing our members to international experts and networking opportunities within their areas of research specialization and career.
• Organizing and facilitating workshops/trainings/conferences in Bioinformatics/Computational Biology.
• Enrolling our members in collaborative Bioinformatics/Compuatational Biology projects leading to publications.
• Working with potential resource persons who may be visiting/residing in any of our Eastern African countries and are willing to give workshops/seminar/courses to our members.
• Member placements in labs abroad (Exchange programs).
• Sourcing and mobilizing resources for RSG- East African activities.
• Negotiating/Soliciting for comprehensive travel fellowships for our members to attend international conferences/workshops in Computational Biology/Bioinformatics.
