The ISCB Student Council (SC) facilitates opportunities for development and growth of the next generation computational biologists.

ISCB SC was the vision of Manuel Corpas and was officially approved by ISCB Board of Directors during ISMB 2004. The ISCB Student Council is a part of ISCB dedicated to facilitating opportunities of development for students and young researchers in the field of Computational Biology and Bioinformatics.

ISCB Student Council members elect representatives for Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary and ISCB Board of Directors Representative positions to manage the affairs of the organization on an annual basis. The elected representatives work with the other members to plan and organize all activities of ISCB Student Council. The ISCB Student Council conducts a symposium as a part of ISMB each year besides a number of local events through its Regional Student Groups.
